Click to enlarge | | May 21, 2001: Barbourville High science and physics teacher Marcia M. Hubbs with her brother Alford Mills. Mr. Mills is employed by D.W. Wilburn Construction, the firm building the new Barbourville High gym.
Seventeen out of a total of forty-nine caisson holes on which the gym will set have been completely dug and filled with concrete. The caissons vary in depth from thirty-one to thirty-six feet deep and vary in diameter from forty-eight to sixty inches. Up to twenty-two yards of concrete are required per hole.
Alford Mills has worked for D.W. Wilburn for over eleven years. Mrs. Hubbs is completing her second year with Barbourville High. |
