   July 9, 2001: Here is a shot taken between the old gym and the high school building. The block and plumbing for this section of the Activity Center is being installed.

   August 1, 2001: Superintendent Warren at the site of the Activity Center/Gym. The dressing rooms are being “blocked up” as the water and sewage lines are essentially in place. The early stages of the concession area can be seen immediately behind Mr. Warren. The construction is still on schedule.

   August 15, 2001: Bobby Mills (of Mills Heating & Plumbing) stands with his children who attend Barbourville City Schools. Left to right: 1st grader Jessica, 4th grader Mary, Senior Brandi, and Sophomore Cindy with Bobby at the site of the new gym. Mr. Mills has completed all subsurface plumbing piping in the locker room and concession areas and concrete slabs have been put over most. Storm drains are currently being installed.

   August 27, 2001: Architect Judd Hubbard of Ross-Tarrant Architects is very happy to pose in front of the Barbourville High School's Activity Center/Gym construction site with his father, a retired educator, David Hubbard. Steel and decking are being installed along with completion of storm drains. The second floor of the dressing rooms are starting in the background.

   September 14, 2001: Athletic Director/Boys' Basketball Coach Dinky Phipps in front of the Activity Center/Gym. The underground fire protector system has been installed. The second floor (over the dressing rooms) bearing walls are being installed, while the anchor bolts for the gym are being poured.
