BARBOURVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
HOME OF THE TIGERS

From the desk of the
Elementary Principal

By: Paul Middleton

With a year of experience as Elementary Principal I am looking forward to a great year at Barbourville Elementary School.
With the opening of another school year the elementary building had a few changes. Mrs. Miracle is now back in the 3rd/4th grade block teaching Social Studies, Mrs. Angie Mills is now teaching 5th/6th grade Social Studies, and Mrs. Beth Mills, a new faculty member, is teaching 5th/6th grade Science.
     I have great expectations for

our school this year. Our academic teams are in full swing now and doing great. The Junior Varisty team is undefeated at this time.
There is reason for great excitement at our school for the present as well as the future. If you drive down North Main Street you can see one reason for excitement in our community, as well as our school, with the construction of the new athletic center.
There is also excitement with the anticipation of the renovation of

the Elementary building.
The original section of the building will be constructed to match the new addition on the inside as well as the outside. This will make our school even more attractive than it already is. The area of most excitement this year is the area of academics. I am very pleased with how the faculty, staff, students, and parents at Barbourville Elementary School are working together to make our school a success.
