Mr. Chafin Talks Choir

By: Alishia Issacs

Many times as you pass by the choir room, you hear the harmonization of students who are enthralled in musical study. Their leader is choir director Steve Chafin.
Mr. Chafin has had a busy year directing his choirs. To begin with, he has had several students to be selected for the all-festival choir. They are Jeffery Smith, Natasha Robbins, Angela Centers, Steven Ball, Totto Tsuchiya, and Daniel Vickors. He also had two students to be honored with the experience of singing in the all-state choir. They are Jeffery Smith and Totto Tsuchiya. We wish the best of luck to these students.
Right now the junior high and high school choirs are diligently working for the upcoming Christmas concert scheduled for December 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Union College Chapel. Are the choirs going to be any good? When I asked Mr. Chafin that question, his response was, “ The choir could be good this year with a little more hard work”.
We are sure to be in for a treat at this year’s concert. To all the choirs, we will see you there!
