Barbourville High School is one of 23 Kentucky high schools recognized in the U.S. News and World Report’s annual ranking of America’s top high schools. These schools are among the top 500 of 18,000 high schools across the nation.
Barbourville High School, Harlan High School and Williamsburg High School are the only schools in this region to earn the distinction.
Superintendent Larry Warren is proud of his school’s recognition: “I have always considered Barbourville High School as a producer to our society’s success. Our students attend school, attend colleges, join the military, and are gainfully employed. Our high school strives to meet the needs of our students, whether it is Advance Placement courses, technology, or the world of work preparation.”
The U.S. News and World Report’s Web site said that a three-step process determined the best high schools.
Mr. Warren said, “ Congratulations to Mr. Middleton (Principal) and his staff for this honor of being recognized as one of the top schools in our
Nation.”
